Maple

Maple unit is a 48-bed unit, spread over two floors. The residents who live on the first two floors of this unit have a varying levels of nursing needs, on the top floor and there is a small bespoken dementia unit. We pride ourselves that all our nurses are trained to provide high quality nursing care as some of our residents require full assistance to manage their needs. We are conscientious and passionate about ensuring end of life care is given in a loving and dignified way. We always actively encourage families to feel welcome and supported.

Maple Information

Health & Safety

We look after elderly vulnerable adults and keep them safe and healthy, as well as enjoying a good quality of life is our goal. Your eyes might be the first to spot a potential hazard so please inform a member of staff straight away if you spot anything as a potential risk.

Visiting Professionals

We have lots of professionals dropping in from time to time such as a dietitian, GP, social workers, etc. You will be asked at times to attend for meetings. We will keep you informed of any changes in your loved ones wellbeing.

Care Plans

All our residents have a person-centred care plan and we aim to make sure all the little things that matter to them is included. You are welcome to have a care plan review at any time.

Correspndence

We have a quarterly newsletter informing you of what is occurring within the home which will be posted out to you. We also need to gain your opinions and views at times. If you are sent a quality assurance questionnaire, we request you sent this back as it makes a big difference to evidencing that we are getting things right and what areas we can improve on.

Complaints

We don't always get everything completely right and we believe in having an honest and open approach to addressing any concerns you may have. Please address any worries or concerns at the time with the nurse or manager on duty. If you feel you would like things to be more official our complaints policy is displayed in the front foyer.

Compliments

We believe we do an outstanding job of looking after you loved ones and appreciate your recognition. We have employee of the month where you can highlight an outstanding staff member and if you could write and leave a review on carehome.co.uk this helps others to know why to choose Orchard Manor.

End of Life Care

We feel privileged and honoured to look after people in the final stages of their life. We ask and encourage you to help us ensure this can be achieved in a dignified and person-centred way. The more open and honest we are to discuss and plan this stage, the more peaceful it can be.

If you see a purple butterfly displayed outside a room, please be dignified and respectful as one of our loved ones is in the final stages of their life.

We light our remembrance candle to honour those we loved who have now passed away.

“The staff are so caring to my mum, they are very welcoming to me and keep me informed on how she is. Mum really enjoyed the visit from a pony and goat this week. The staff at this home are wonderful, I can't thank them enough”.
